Rick Evans, NH Forester License # 34
A lifelong resident of Canaan, NH, Rick has been practicing
forestry since his graduation in 1983 from the University of New
Hampshire, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest
Management. He has extensive experience in managing timberland,
drafting and implementing forest management plans and conducting
all phases of timber sales and harvesting operations. Rick has
managed specific tracts of forest land for timber production,
wildlife, maple syrup production, Christmas trees, water quality
and aesthetics.
Keeping our forests safe from fire and pests is important to
long term stability and is an area in which Rick has been extremely
active. He has served as Assistant Fire Chief for the town of
Canaan; Special Deputy Warden, State of NH Division of Forests
and Lands and has spent time battling forest fires across the
nation.
In an effort to help educate the public about the importance of our
forests, he has volunteered in the Foresters in Schools program and
has assisted in instructing for the NH Loggers Certification
program. Evans has also served as Chairman on the Grafton County
Advisory Council and is a member of the Society of American
Foresters, the NH Maple producers Assoc, and the NH Timberland
Owners Association.
